Seed Treatment Application Center (STAC), Monheim, Germany
Established in the 1980s, the STAC serves as a center of excellence for seed treatment application technology. It offers advice, technical service, support and training to Bayer CropScience´s own international seed treatment team as well as to customers, such as breeders, seed companies, coaters and seed treatment plants.
The STAC provides advice on existing application technology, including the testing of treating machines and coating plants on the client’s premises. It also examines and analyzes treated seed samples to check the dosing accuracy and coating quality as well as the distribution of the products among the seeds. The STAC also arranges training courses for clients to demonstrate the best application techniques for Bayer CropScience seed treatment products.
The Center holds stock of seed of all major crops and cooperates closely with all major seed treatment machinery manufacturers. It is equipped with a wide range of seed treatment machines which are commercially available throughout the world. This allows testing of Bayer CropScience´s products with various sowing and planting machines under practical conditions. With its additional facilities and close cooperation with manufacturers, the Center can address and solve any kind of technical problems related to seed treatment application – right down to the development of customized application recipes.
